Using decorative boxes and baskets is a great way to decorate your home while maximizing storage space! I usually get mine from stores like TJ Maxx or Ross, so they are fairly inexpensive. Decorating this way seems to be something that appeals to lots of different tastes for varying décor, because I’ve seen lots of selections that would complement many different styles.
The suitcase styles are really handy if you’ll be pulling them off a high shelf, because the contents will stay in place instead of spilling out on their way down.

This one contains all of the user manuals and care instructions for our kitchen appliances, but it doubles as a cute decoration on a high shelf in my laundry room.
Some of the other boxes in my laundry room are for certain types of projects with lots of small pieces, like our leather works box, my wood burning (pyrography) box, or my sewing thread & notions.

Using cute baskets on the floor for throw blankets is very handy. It’s quite common for several of them to be pulled out and used during visits or movie time.

Oh, and this is one of my favorite uses for a decorative box!

I used one of my old table cloths to “wrap up” all of the Legos I own, and when my grandsons come over, it’s a cinch to spread out on the table for us to spend time building together. (I chose a white cloth so it’s easy to see the pieces.) Once our play time is done, the Legos are gathered back up in the table cloth and put away in the “Lego chest” in literally seconds!
I hope the ideas and pictures here inspire you to organize a few things in an aesthetically pleasing way in your home!
