Sheet Music Phase: 75%!
Website Wednesday came and went this week while I was busy working on formatting and entering sheet music for the new song book. Thursday, I started writing my article for this week, but then I realized I just passed another milestone in my “Cherished Hymns” project. I decided to table my article for now so Continue reading

100 Songs!
I accomplished a huge milestone this week on my “Cherished Hymns” song book project. I completed 100 of the 230+ songs that will be included in the book! In the beginning of May this year, I upgraded my Sibelius music notation software so I could begin the work of creating new sheet music and editing Continue reading

My Project
Wow… Where has the week gone? I just realized it is Sunday evening, and I completely missed my Website Wednesday! Well, I can tell you it was for good reason, since we embarked on our annual “Family Retreat” for the 4th year in a row on Wednesday (…but that is another story). The big news Continue reading

Music Milestone
When I made the decision to create my own website and incorporate music from my YouTube channel, I faced a lot of new challenges. The greatest hurdle was how to create a sustainable set up that I could manage on my own for recording my songs. I tried several different methods including using a wireless Continue reading

Whisper & Sing
This whimsical picture, that is now in the center of my LifeLyrics logo for my website, was created about 15 years ago for a musician in Australia. Ray Cochrane of Pygmy Beat befriended me as I was trying to learn how to produce audio recordings of my music. He asked me to record new vocals Continue reading

Dreams Coming True
Realizing a dream is still a journey, and the steps rarely resemble the idea of it. Over 20 years ago, I wrote my first song. I shared it with my closest friends with trepidation. I sang it in church with a shaky voice and then kept it locked away for some time. I wondered if Continue reading

Dream & Inspire
We recently went on an epic tandem cycling adventure road trip to celebrate 35 years of marriage. During the drive time, we listened to several episodes of Bike Life podcast (link: https://www.podpage.com/bike-life/). In the episode, “Embracing the Unknown,” Dan Schmitt was sharing how he had spent 25 years dreaming of making a cross country bikepacking Continue reading

Publishing a Custom Song Book
About 15 years ago, I started learning about obtaining print licensing for copywritten work so I could publish a custom compilation of favorite songs for my church. I was amazed at how difficult it was to identify the author and publisher for so many songs (especially if the song was performed by someone other than Continue reading
About Me
Thinking about the line from Karen Carpenter’s song, “…don’t worry that it’s not good enough for anyone else to hear…” I have been inspired to “just sing” (and write, and share).
I produced a weekly blog for a little over a year, but now I’m committed to one article a month. I hope to give a little inspiration to those passing by, either through my blog articles or within the other pages I’ve created here.
