Traveling Lighter
The first two years in my retirement, I flew to Tennessee three times a year in order to visit my daughter and her husband. Flying across the country by myself gave me good reason to evaluate my travel gear and find practical ways to lighten my load. Now I’d like to share some of the… Continue reading

Trips During COVID & Government Shutdown 2025
I’ve been traveling so much lately, I haven’t had time to complete my video of our trip to Washington DC last October. I intended to tell the story of how we ended up planning that trip last year, and then attach part of the video to my January blog post. However, I finally realized I… Continue reading

Washington DC Trip-October 2025
Remember when I told you I took a detour to San Antonio, Texas on the way home from Tennessee after Mother’s Day? Well, my story about our Washington DC trip started while I was on my first solo travel excursion last May. After a very full day on the Premium City Tour with Alamo &… Continue reading

Road Trip-Summer of 2020
Our youngest of 5 kids was the only one still living under our roof. Levi was also the only one of our children still in High School, and the only one of our kids to attend public school – starting in Middle School. The side story is that his four older siblings are 8+ years… Continue reading

My $550 Mistake
Well, to put it lightly, I took “learning the hard way” to a whole new level. You may have seen my article, “Celebrating Milestones,” at the beginning of the year. Ray and I went to Cancun, Mexico for a few days of warmth and relaxation in January. When I shared the video I made about… Continue reading

Tandem Adventures
Two years ago, Ray & I went on an epic road trip with our tandem bicycle in tow (on the top of his Ford Explorer). This trip was a celebration of 35 years of marriage, and our first time crossing the US/Canadian border. We scheduled stays in Washington, USA, Vancouver Island, BC, Vancouver, Canada, and… Continue reading

Celebrating Milestones!
Ray & I decided to go somewhere warm for our celebration. After many long days of us cooped up in our respective offices – me working on Cherished Hymns and him working toward the “Go Live” date at his work, we decided we were going to spend a few days for true Rest and Relaxation.… Continue reading

Labor Day
In honor of Labor Day (tomorrow), and the fact that we were at a church campout most of the week, I am taking this week off from my normal blog post. I love collecting pathway photographs. It became a “thing” for me many years ago when Microsoft had a series of desktop wallpapers that were… Continue reading

Favorite Memories
I just returned from a week-long trip to Tennessee with my oldest daughter and her oldest son. We flew on four planes, stayed in an Atlanta airport hotel the first and last night, and spent five nights at my middle daughter and her husband’s home in Ooltewah, Tennessee. We had lots of adventures, and one… Continue reading

Cycling Fitness & Lifestyle
We were just young adults having a good time when Ray, Karl, and I used to go out late at night and ride around playing “cops and robbers” on our bicycles. In those days, I had no idea that I would become Ray’s wife a few years later, or the role that bicycles would play… Continue reading
About Me
Thinking about the line from Karen Carpenter’s song, “…don’t worry that it’s not good enough for anyone else to hear…” I have been inspired to “just sing” (and write, and share).
I produced a weekly blog for a little over a year, but now I’m committed to one article a month. I hope to give a little inspiration to those passing by, either through my blog articles or within the other pages I’ve created here.
